'Yorkshire Lavender Farm'

I have moved back home for the pandemic lockdown. Whilst at home at I came across my childhood photos. ‘The Family Album’  is a 15 images series of photos from my childhood that I have worked onto. The main intentions behind this work is the idea that facial recognition can identify us physically, but cannot identify with us emotionally.

A camera captures the visual moment, but we have to remember the emotions from the moment ourselves. I deliberately chose images that includes physical interactions or occasions that others could associate their own memories with. The camera shares the moment with us but doesn’t experience it the same as we do. I show the contrast between old and new technologies and how our technology and documentation has developed, from disposable camera photography to facial recognition software built into our phones.
