Projection Mapping 

Working three-dimensionally with my projection mapping work ‘Algorithm,’ and ‘Algorithm 2.0,’ creates depth and gives my work a “human” feel. The shadowed sides of the mannequin reflect how facial recognition struggles with head tilt and rotation if not scanning from a front facial point of view.

The mannequin head is life sized and when exhibiting this work I intend to display it at my models human height of 5'10. 

​

What this work emphasises is the disconnected spaces between the 2D and the 3D. Additionally the ‘shadows’ play on the idea of our biometric facial data being unknowingly archived- it reflects the ‘gap’ in our knowledge of where our digital data is stored and who controls it.
