Projection Mapping

Working three-dimensionally with my projection mapping work ‘Algorithm,’ and ‘Algorithm 2.0,’ creates depth and gives my work a “human” feel. The shadowed sides of the mannequin reflect how facial recognition struggles with head tilt and rotation if not scanning from a front facial point of view.

The mannequin head is life sized and when exhibiting this work I intend to display it at my models human height of 5'10.

What this work emphasises is the disconnected spaces between the 2D and the 3D. Additionally the ‘shadows’ play on the idea of our biometric facial data being unknowingly archived- it reflects the ‘gap’ in our knowledge of where our digital data is stored and who controls it.
